*Sr. **ETL** **Tester* *Staunton, VA* *Duration: 6+ months* *Description:* Job Duties: 1) Obtains an understanding of the business’s financial and clinical information needs and translates these needs into QA requirements. 2) Must be able to communicate with leads regarding project readiness, status and potential risks. 3) Collaborates with developers to improve overall quality by emphasizing defect prevention through the development process. 4) Works with IT Operations to ensure test environment readiness. 5) Strong backend testing, SQL Server, SQL Language, someone who has done SQL development, Informatica is a plus, someone who can write in-depth test cases, scripts and then do the testing. 6) Develops data quality test plans and manually executes test cases. 7) Ability to formulate a solid test approach/strategy using a variety of sources ranging from well documented requirements specifications to loosely defined requirements. 8) Experience in breaking tasks down, estimating timelines, and delivering quality results on time. 9) Ability to analyze root cause of a problem and demonstrate good sense when handing the problem over to development. 10) Performs data quality analysis using advanced SQL skills. 11) Tracks defects in StarTeam to ensure appropriate management and escalation of defects. Coordinate defect resolution and retesting. 12) Implements and maintains tools required to support data warehouse testing. 14) Develops and provides insights into streamlining processes. 15) Enthusiastically collaborates with business partners to ensure DaVita Mission and Core Values are fulfilled. Job Requirements: 1) Bachelor's degree in business or computer science or equivalent experience. 2) 7 or more years of software quality assurance experience. 3) Proven data analysis, data verification and problem-solving abilities. 4) A strong knowledge of SQL and relational databases 5) Proficient in the use of Database Development Tools for both Microsoft SQL and Oracle databases (i.e. PL/SQL Developer, TOAD, SQL Query Analyzer, etc) 6) Experience performing *ETL* code migration is preferred 7) Experience with Informatica *ETL* tool is preferred 8) Experience testing and deploying Data Warehouse solutions is preferred, familiarity with data warehouse testing techniques including profiling. 9) Experience performing QA and testing of tools-based as well as custom * ETL* logic is highly desired 10) Experience with StarTeam application is preferred 11) Good project management skills and/or substantial exposure to project-based work structures. 12) Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language. 13) Strong analytical skills. Assimilates information quickly, communicates complex requirements and issues clearly and concisely. 14) Must be able to work in a team environment, as well as independently. Ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced dynamic team-based environment.
