Requirement Details: *Role: Senior PL/SQL Developer* *Duration: 6 months plus contract* *Location: Herndon VA* Candidates should have at least 7 plus years of strong PL/SQL development experience, working with Oracle 9i/10g,SQL tuning large databases. *About the Position:* The Senior PL/SQL Developer will design and construct the IR2 batch processes per industry best practices, and provide technical support to other teams, including requirements, architecture, development, test and operations as needed. *Responsibilities:* Review business requirements and use cases, and provide feedback to management and/or business analysts. Design and implement batch processes with PL/SQL Optimize existing PL/SQL packages Document Technical Specifications Provide technical expertise and lead junior developers Provide test support Provide metrics and project planning updates for the development effort Plan and execute tests demonstrating that the design works *Qualifications:* Must-Have Skills: 10 years of development experience – at least 5 years experience with Oracle PL/SQL Thorough understanding of Oracle 10G features, Oracle development tools, SQL, Oracle SQL extensions and internal functions, and PL/SQL Expertise in advanced PL/SQL techniques in a 9i or 10g environment Expertise in SQL tuning of large database environments (1+ terabytes) Experience programming PL/SQL batch environment utilizing large tables and high transaction throughput requirements Demonstrated experience using Oracle Collections, bulking techniques, partition utilization to increase performance Demonstrated experience in above in a production environment. Ability to work well with others in a large (50-100 people) team. Ability to multi-task and provide expertise for multiple development teams across concurrent project tasks Ability to provide technical expertise to junior team members and consult with other application developers to tune and performance test new and existing code base Excellent written and verbal communications skills Demonstrated ability to plan and execute complex engineering tests *Nice to have Skills:* Formal Performance testing and tuning experience is a big plus Experience in ETL tool is a plus A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Mathematics.
