Please send to [email protected]* * * *Billing Architect * Location: Puerto Rico Rate: $40/hr max Date needed: Immediate Travel Required (%): 75% Our client currently have an opening for a Technical Architect with strong drive and experience in Telecom Billing application, integration and business architecture, application lifecycle development and consulting. This position will require the ability to provide guidance on overall efforts, as well as work with the client on current and future state billing architecture. This position supports and defines the software architecture that will meet functional requirements and business needs as well as product reliability & flexibility. In this position the Billing Technical Architect will be emphasizing 3 main areas of architectural engineering: (1) solution architecture, (2) implementation architecture, and (3) integration architecture. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Telecom Billing applications, software development architecture design, service oriented software architecture for large scale globally distributed systems leadership, consulting back office Telecom application software and Wireless technologies. The candidate must be intimately familiar with a variety of programming and software engineering methodologies (waterfall, iterative, unified, agile, etc.). *Responsibilities:* • Interfaces with Technology and Business stakeholders to gather, define and document software architecture requirements. • Analyzes requirements expectations to develop reliable and flexible software architectures. • Drives technical software design and implementation with a hands-on approach. Authors software architecture specifications and participates in the creation of detailed technical design documents. • Proactively raises issues if specification will lead to quality, system performance, or architectural issues in product. Recommends action plan and communicates issues to management, architects and product managers. • Participates in technical design reviews, functional specification reviews and peer reviews; contributes to development project estimates, scheduling, test plans, and code reviews. • Coordinates closely with the engineering team to ensure thorough development and testing on relevant platforms as is appropriate for the particular task/project. • Creates functional, operational, and interface architecture models. Understands human-system interfaces to develop suitable architectures supporting ease of use and usability. • Performs decision analysis, simulation, optimization, and decision-making to support the evaluation and selection of alternative software architectures. • Identify, assess, and develop mitigations to product and process risks. • Provides guidance and direction to the engineering and development team to ensure architectural integrity of the expert understanding of the technologies, architectures and implementation issues at all layers. *Qualifications:* • Minimum 7 to 10 years of experience in software engineering and architecture. • Minimum 7 to 10 years Telecom Billing Applications experience • Significant experience in developing large-scale enterprise business solutions in a multi platform • Experience in a software development environment as Software Architect • Experience in designing large scale, distributed architectures • Strong writing skills and ability to produce high quality documentation. • Exceptional analytical skills required • An attention to detail and strong follow-up skills are required. • Ability to work independently and in a team oriented environment • Exceptional Oral and Written Communication skills are mandatory. • Expert knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle and Methodologies (waterfall, unified, iterative, agile, etc). • Expert knowledge of Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) design and Services as Software (SAS) design concepts Strong relational database skills, a plus. • Ability to design complex architecture. Ability to lead and drive technical efforts.
