Position Description Job Title: Business Analyst/Developer Department: Sales/Independent Channels Reports to: Manager, Business Solutions Direct Reports: N/A FLSA Status: Exempt _____________________________________________________________________________ Summary The Business Analyst/Developer is responsible for performing and/or overseeing financial activities, reporting and systems integration for the 3-O, Sport, Product, Marketing, Key Accounts, Departments Stores and Inventory groups. The Analyst leads and coordinates the design and implementation of sales/financial reports for user groups. Duties and Responsibilities Assesses the reporting needs for the 3-O, Sport, Product, Marketing, Key Accounts, Department Stores and Inventory groups to determine reporting requirements Works with users to obtain and evaluate information on factors affecting reporting design, layout, security, etc to determine report configuration Using Business Objects, develops a common set of reports that can be tailored to meet the specific needs of the each operating unit. Uses discretion and independent judgment to recommend reporting solutions to senior management Trains users in the proper application of codes, data manipulation, and basic report modifications Assists in responding to overload/traditional query requests from the 3-O, Sport, Product, Marketing, Key Accounts, Department Stores and Inventory groups Serves as a liaison between Business Solutions user groups in coordinating various technical changes and system/reporting enhancements Collaborates with Business Systems Developer to identify discrepancies between traditional reporting and web-based systems reporting Partners with the finance team in gathering relevant data in providing reporting and presentations using Business Objects and other PC based applications Compiles and analyzes sales and financial information and develops integrated revenue/expense analyses, projections, reports and presentations Contacts: Internal: Sales force Marketing Product Key Accounts Department Stores Inventory Planning, Control & Forecasting Business Intelligence Team (Italy) External: Outside Sales Reps Skills/Knowledge Strong project management and analytical skills Excellent PC skills including proficiency in Business Objects, MS Office, Excel, Word, product management/statistical software applications Experience working on a legacy/enterprise database system such as AS/ 400, with data input and retrieval Excellent communication skills Ability to translate user needs into reporting solutions; understands relevant business area issues and implications Ability to work independently with limited supervision from manager Education and/or Experience Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance or economics; an MBA or advanced degree preferred Several years of experience in a similar role involving sales analysis, marketing, product tracking and analysis Experience using Business Objects applications preferred Equivalent combination of education and experience --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Business Objects User Group" group.
