*6 months + (Multiple extensions are probable, * *Phone screen and in person interview required.)* Our client is designing and constructing a new data center facility in Springfield MA. The program is to be built in phases with the full program scope set for a Tier III facility with 20,000 sq ft of computer room space. The second center will help ensure the state’s computer systems and digital assets continue to be properly secured and maintained, while providing greater operational efficiencies for the client, and an economic boost for the City of Springfield. · The second data center will serve to backup the client’s primary data center in Chelsea, which houses a critical network of data systems used by thousands of state workers – including police officers, social workers, and health professionals – who need immediate access to sensitive information to carry out their jobs. · The second data center is a key part of our strategy to manage our technology more effectively by consolidating the executive departments’ distributed data centers into two efficiently managed facilities and become a national model for green and environmental friendly data centers. · *Key Deliverables* · Analysis o Consolidated analysis of current state multiple network systems requirements, designs, and applications · Process o Development of design principals and design process based on industry best practices · Design o Development of the detailed design, standards, implementation plans, operations model and costs of the Springfield Data Center network architecture. o Development of the detailed design, standards, implementation plans, operations model and costs for enterprise convergence of voice/data systems and call centers o Integrated security model designs providing common standard for security compliance for all federal/state regulations · Costs o Budget and cost estimates for all designs *General Experience* The successful candidates should have 10+ years experience in network design inclusive of security and telephony components. *Process:* o Experience in network product development five phases cycle, specification, design, development, testing and maintenance o Ability to research and design innovative architectures meeting stringent flexibility, resiliency, scalability, energy-efficiency and other requirements of large, critical network infrastructures. o Innovation mind-set and follow-through innovation cycle (feasibility study, design, develop, experiment, deploy, validate) o Technical Project planning and management experience. *Technical:* o 5+ years in VoIP / converged network design o 5+ years in integrated security infrastructure design o 3+ years of green IT & network architecture design. o Knowledge of core Internet protocols (OSPF, BGP, MPLS, QoS, etc.) *Communication:* o Outstanding communication skills, persuasion and ability to promote innovative service and network architecture concepts to management and executive-level audiences. o Fluency and ability to prepare detailed reports, appealing presentations, white papers *Education/Certifications* o Bachelor Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or equivalent experience.
