Start: ASAP End: 4 Months + Location: Dallas, TX Rate: $43/Hr 20% Support separation of storage system and associated migrations at MDC in Dallas, TX 40% Support build-out and configure of new backup systems in Manassas, VA 40% Support cutover and migration of backups for systems moving from MDC in Dallas, TX to Manassas, VA *** Specialized/Practical Knowledge: Applicant must have demonstrated knowledge and experience in the following: • Expert knowledge of Symantec Net-backup architecture and software (5 years minimum) • Expert knowledge of Sun/STK and IBM 3584 tape libraries • Thorough understanding of the internal workings of Net-backup • Planning, designing and solutioning backup solutions • Troubleshooting storage and backup related hardware and software issues • Expert problem solving skills and making recommendations and implementing solutions to resolve those problems • Business continuity and disaster recovery • High availability and clustering • Understand architectural design challenges, concepts and solutions • Infrastructure technologies including: Unix (Sun & AIX), Wintel, VMWare/ESX, Citrix/Metaframe, Web (IIS & Weblogic), Shared Storage (SAN, NAS, SATA) & Veritas • Messaging, Microsoft Exchange • Enterprise distributed environments • Enterprise data center migrations, virtualization and consolidation • Ability to excel in a high-profile, high-demand environment • Working knowledge of Project Management tools, including Microsoft Project, Microsoft Excel, and word documents • Able to work with all levels of management to complete projects successfully • Meeting facilitation • Business Analysis • Requirements Gathering *** Management Skill: While not directly managing others, this role will require the management of the end-to-end architectural backup design process. *** Interaction: applicant must demonstrate the following qualities: Team player.
