Job Title: Senior Technical Lead
Location: Sacramento CA
Duration: 1 year plus
Rate: $55/Hr

Required qualifications:
1. At least seven (7) years cumulative experience as technical leads on
projects involving both business and technical participants;
2. Full understanding of, and experience with, Microsoft technology and the
implementation of Microsoft technologies (e.g., Exchange, Active Directory
administration and maintenance, MS Windows, MS Server, DNS, DHCP, SMS, SCCM,
Terminal Services (TS), DHCP, etc.);
3. At least four (4) years cumulative experience in a lead capacity on IT
projects, including, but not limited to, direct technical experience with
deployment, and support of multiple application(s) within a Microsoft
Enterprise environment across a LAN/WAN network;
4. Knowledge of LAN/WAN network architecture and TCP/IP protocol(s);
5. Knowledge of wireless technology within an enterprise environment;
6. Experience implementing enterprise network operating system solutions;
and
7. Knowledge of Enterprise Virtual Environments (e.g., VMWare).
*Desirable Qualifications: *
1. Familiarity with Project Management Institute (PMI) Project Management
Methodology (e.g., PMBOK, etc.);
2. Experience working within a health care and/or correctional environment;
3. Expertise managing IT projects within California State government
agencies;
4. Thorough knowledge and experience managing an IT project schedule;
5. Knowledge of CPHCS and/or CDCR operations.
*SCOPE OF SERVICES *
The Consultants are required to perform all of the following:
1. Identify interfaces and data requirements for integration with various
internal and external systems including, but not limited to, CDR, eUHR, D&T
and other CPHCS IT projects, as assigned;
2. Identify issues and reporting needs related to project administration and
implementation at institutions for CPHCS;
3. Develop non-functional requirements (e.g. project technical
implementation, maintenance and operations, and performance requirements);
4. Participate in coordination meetings with Application Administrator,
Subject Matter Experts (SME), Project Sponsors, and other
stakeholders/customers to gather the required information and make technical
recommendations, as appropriate.
5. Participate in information gathering meetings, fact-finding meetings,
working sessions, status reporting (both verbal and written), presentations,
and general communications to help ensure success of the project. In
addition to required reports and deliverables specified by the CPHCS Project
Manager, the consultants will produce the following documentation as
requested:
Deployment Plans;
Lessons Learned;
Issues and/or Risks;
6. Collaborate with CPHCS staff to identify IT technical issues and/or
risks, maintain issue log, ensure prompt attention to, and resolution of,
technical issues and escalate when necessary;
7. Work with technical employees/consultants to discover, plan, and
implement any desktop, server, network, application, software or other
system changes that are necessary to ensure successful implementation of
assigned projects.
8. Responsible for identifying, tracking, supporting and reporting of key
project indicators required to implement the project;
9. If requested, work with all technical and implementation aspects of
CPHCS’ project and subprojects.
10. Communicate with CPHCS project staff to ensure efficient and effective
exchange of information, and that important and timely decisions are made;
11. Interface with stakeholders statewide and/or regional and local
institutional levels to ensure successful implementation of assigned
projects;
Travel by Consultants to California State Prison sites and
other CDCR locations will be required.
12. Complete tasks in the agreed upon timeframe including status reports
entered into the Clarity Portfolio Management System (Clarity) that describe
current project status, deliverables produced during the previous month,
plans for the coming month, and any issues and/or risks identified during
the reporting period;
13. Adhere to all required policies of the CPHCS Information Technology
Services Division (ITSD) including provision of technical guidance with
development of any required project documentation (e.g., project charter,
project management plan, etc.), and/or weekly time and status reporting
through Clarity;
14. Assist with technical resolution of all project issues and manage risks
escalated; and
15. Any other related duties as requested by CPHCS' DCIO or designee.
