Loc: Reston, VA duration: 3-6 months Rate: $40/Hr * * *Overview:* We currently have an opening in *Reston, VA *for an *Security* *Architect* with strong drive and experience in web architecture, architecture integration or end to end business support system (BSS) architecture. This position will require the ability to provide guidance on architecture and integration for migration of an existing mission-critical web portal from LDAP to a Oracle based solution for user authentication and authorization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in any or all of the following including web technologies, integration architecture and business support system integration and architecture. *Responsibilities:* - Interfaces with Technology and Business stakeholders to gather, define and document architecture requirements. - Assists in the definition of detailed project plans and requirements for the security subsystem. - Analyzes requirements expectations to develop reliable and flexible software architectures. - Documents technical approaches to difficult technical solutions. - Authors detailed design documents for handoff to various development teams to implement. - Drives technical design and implementation with a hands-on approach. Authors architecture specifications and participates in the creation of detailed technical design documents. - Proactively raises issues if specification will lead to quality, system performance, or architectural issues in product. - Recommends action plan and communicates issues to management, architects and product managers. - Creates functional, operational, and interface architecture models. Understands human-system interfaces to develop suitable architectures supporting ease of use and usability. - Performs decision analysis, simulation, optimization, and decision-making to support the evaluation and selection of alternative software architectures. *Qualifications:* - Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Computer Science, Business, IT, or a related field. - 5 years of client-interfacing experience. - 5 years of experience interfacing with technology and business stakeholders to gather, define, and document software architecture requirements. - 5 years of development integration experience. - 5 years of experience working with UNIX based-systems. - 5 years of experience with and demonstrates expert-level knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle and Methodologies. - 5 years of experience with Java/J2EE technologies and can demonstrate ability to provide technical leadership with these technologies. - 2 years of experience with Oracle's Identity and Access Management Suite of products. - Open to travel 100% when business needs require. - Can demonstrate strong written and oral communication skills in the English language. *Preferred*: 2 – 5 years of experience working with LDAP systems and servers.
