*Project Description:  *

The Illinois Department of Transportation has embarked on a new strategic
initiative to make data available to users in a “self service” model.  The
intent is to build the interfaces necessary to pull data from a variety of
existing databases, aggregate it in a centralized data repository, sort it,
and make it easily accessible to IDOT personnel for query, reporting, and
map display applications.  Once fully implemented, IDOT will be able to rely
on a standardized repository of enterprise data.  The source databases,
which include several legacy systems, will continue exist to serve the data
processing and/or data reporting needs of the business interests they were
designed to serve.  The Illinois Department of Transportation is undertaking
this initiative in an effort to improve our efficiency and accountability.
 The Department has created several initial enterprise data marts including
Construction, Financial, and Safety. The data marts are built on Microsoft
SQL Server 2005 (Database, Reporting Services, and Analysis Services). The
Department has implemented business user access to the data utilizing MOSS
2007, Performance Point/ProClarity, and Excel 2007 including an Excel
application that integrates with a GIS map component built within the Excel
UI.  The Human Resource Data Mart project will provide the Agency with
direct, easy access to employee and position information.  This information,
within required security constraints, can in turn be used in a flexible
manner to generate reports, provide ad-hoc reporting options, provide
ability for in-depth analysis and also be available to key staff within
various business units.  Developing a single source of information will
allow business users to focus on data analysis rather than data compiling,
resulting in a more timely, consistent and efficient process. The
implementation of scorecards and key performance indicators (KPI) will
provide enhanced accountability across the organization. The improved access
for business users to this information will allow IT staff to focus efforts
on system enhancements and reduce support requests for the creation of
reports.





*Requirements:*

** PMP certification from Project Management Institute required, along with
Bachelor or Master degree*

** Previous experience managing a Human Resource Information System project*

** 5+ years experience as Project Manager with an emphasis on managing and
development of client/server and/or internet applications, comprehensive
knowledge of procedures and techniques of project management. *

** Previous State Government experience is a plus*
** Experience with Microsoft Project
