Specific Knowledge/Skills:
- BSCS or equivalent
- Must possess strong oral and written communication skills with a proven
track record of working effectively across large organizations.
- Enthusiasm for helping a team set and achieve goals
- Senior level experience with Nagios, Big Brother, and other
monitoring applications.
- Expertise in Apache/Tomcat installation and support
- Working experience with Mysql and/or Postgresql, especially related to
operational support (replication, backup, etc)
- Strong working knowledge and experience with automated configuration
management using cfEngine or Puppet
- Working knowledge of networking issues, physical layer and Layer 3
- Experience working in an environment that has utilized load
balancing (geographic
and local) for redundancy
- Strong knowledge in Ruby, Perl, and Bash
- Expert in Kickstart
- Knowledge of PXE booting PC’s over the network
- Diverse and seasoned experience in a high-volume or critical production
service environment.
- Ability to function independently with minimal supervision.
