*Role: **iSeries Systems Administrator*** * * *Location: *Hartford, CT *Duration: *3+ Months * * *Rate/hr: *Open** * * *Interview* - Phone + In Person** * * *Description:* * * The incumbent in this position is responsible for installation, configuration and maintenance of the client's iSeries server infrastructure, including hardware, operating systems and application software. Performs configuration changes to aid in enhancing performance, security and availability. Develops procedures and checklists to aid in preventative maintenance and troubleshooting the iSeries platform. Assists with the configuration and tuning of system monitoring tools to aid in the identification and escalation of system issues. * * *Primary Duties and Responsibilities: includes but not limited to:* - Performs hardware and software preventive maintenance to ensure the stability of the overall business platform. - Monitors the availability, performance and capacity of all iSeries servers, to ensure continuous availability. - Assists in the compilation of management and executive reports on a periodic basis. - Support: Works with management, peers and vendors to provide ongoing monitoring, performance tuning, implementation, and fault root cause analysis for systems under management. Ensures Service Level Objectives are met. - Technical Writing: Creation and maintenance of troubleshooting and operational documentation for all systems under management. Authors and peer-reviews knowledgebase articles documenting fault root causes and their respective resolutions. - Training: Provides and receives cross-discipline training in order to ensure maximum availability of systems under management. - Communications: Communicates effectively verbally, and in written form. Carries and responds to off-hours communications device, in order to provide 24x7 support for systems under management. - Continuous Improvement: Actively pursues opportunities, as an individual and as part of a group, to improve knowledge, tools and processes for systems under management. * * *Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:* · Provides enterprise wide support as needed. · Responsible for maintaining and enforcing confidentiality and privacy rules pursuant to all applicable regulations. · Participates in and complies with Mohegan Sun’s Change Management process and methodology. · Promotes superior customer service. · Performs other duties as assigned. * * *Minimum Education and Qualifications:* - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business or related field, and two years of experience providing support of an enterprise iSeries infrastructure for a corporation of at least 2000 employees. - Must possess advanced knowledge of iSeries operating systems and related hardware, network and authentication services, and mass storage devices and their related technologies. - Experience in using diagnostic tools to troubleshoot complex problems. - Experience in reading, analyzing and interpreting documents and technical procedures. - Ability to obtain and maintain gaming licensure in one or more jurisdictions as required. *Competencies: Incumbent will master the following competencies while in this position:*** · Intermediate knowledge of all currently deployed Mohegan Sun iSeries products. · Excel at process improvement and root cause analysis. · Ability to document technical environments using MS Visio or other graphic documentation tools.
