Currently the DW was supported and managed by the UCSD Foundations office/operation. * * *Position Summary* The ETL/Data Warehouse Developer - Informatica is responsible for the design, implementation and maintenance of a dimensional data warehouse. The incumbent will work independently and as part of a team on a large project to integrate University Development data into our campus Data Warehouse and will be responsible for development of transformation logic in Informatica to move data from a SQL Server platform into a Unix DB2 dimensional data warehouse. This project will include data mapping and re-sourcing existing Informatica mappings into an existing dimensional Data Warehouse model. *Job Duties* *Analyze, enhance and maintain Data Warehouse systems utilizing RDBMS database (SQL Server and DB2) & utilities, SQL scripts, and Informatica tools. *Oversee and lead ETL program and mapping development (specify, develop, test, deploy) utilizing a defined project methodology and internal standards. *Performance tuning, monitoring and troubleshooting. *Interact with Business teams and Analytical Teams on a limited basis. *Involvement and contribution to complex Schedules (Zena), set priorities and implement action plans. *Implement best practices on new Informatica implementations with cross environmental considerations (dev-qa-prod). *Facilitates knowledge transfer and mentors other team members. *Knowledge of Informatica CDC [change data capture] utilities a plus. *Have a comprehensive knowledge of Informatica design and build techniques for high-performance loads, rerun. *Have direct experience in the build or design and build of slowly changing Dimensions, build of fact extracts, lookups, joins and transformation logic including but not limited to numeric conversion, string manipulation, persistent variables, etc. *Develop and re-source data transformation processes, automating load processes and maintain and update acquisition and loading processes. *Develop and improve standards and procedures to support quality development, testing, production and operational oversight of the data warehouse processes. *Develop and oversee monitoring systems and remedial processes to ensure data loads always occur on schedule and data is accurate. *Define and capture metadata and business rules in coordination with other data warehouse team members to support the projects. *Assure all programs are documented using standardized documentation procedures *Provide project leadership on projects as assigned. *Demonstrate solid project management skills of planning, organizing, and controlling the scope, schedule, and budget. *Work with various IT and vendor personnel to manage implementations within schedule and budget. *Assume major responsibility for resolving problems in assigned systems. *Provide high-level estimates as well as accurate detailed estimates. *Participate in the on-call rotation. *Job Requirements* *Experience working in Donor/Gift Giving applications a plus *Senior level experience in Informatica (5+ years) *Basic knowledge of UNIX and Windows operating systems. * Knowledgeable in Informatica architecture, design and development * Knowledgeable of data warehouse design, automation and Implementation at an Enterprise level, specifically with regards to SCD (slowly changing dimensions). * Bachelor's Degree or equiv. design and build enterprise experience. * Ability to be proactive and work well under pressure *Experience with SQL Server and DB2 *Demonstrated personal initiative, leadership and Teamwork *Strong communication and analytical skills *Excellent customer service and process improvement skills *Project management training and skills *Experience with MS Project or equivalent * * *With Regards* Venky *OpenBox Solutions,Inc*** **2890 Carpenter Road, Suite# 2000 Ann Arbor, MI 48108 Ph: 734-418-3260 Fax: 734-975-9380 [email protected] www.openboxsolutions.com -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Business Objects User Group" group.
