Position: Mainframe System Analyst
Location: Bloomington, IL
Duration: 6+ months
*Skills:*
· 3 years COBOL
· 3 years DB2
· 3 years JCL
· 3 years PERL scripting
· 2 years Java/J2EE
· 3 years test management, test plan creation
· 3 years testing life cycle
*Responsibilities:*
1. Builds new and/or modifies existing software to meet business and
systems requirements through mainframe software component designing, coding,
testing, and quality review.
2. Analyzes the systems and business requirements to develop a system
solution.
3. Develops technical specifications for mainframe applications and
provides system software support for the applications and components.
4. Maintains an understanding of how technology can enhance and offer a
range of solutions for our business partners.
5. Implements software solutions and resolves problems that decrease time
to market, enhance flexibility and embrace the solution provider mindset.
6. Applies innovation, passion, flexibility, adaptability, and initiative
in daily activities to contribute to a Systems culture that clearly reflects
these ideals.
The position requires a person with technical skills in Host Mainframe,
Perl and/or Java to write code for testing tools, execute jobs (JCL) and
trouble shoot applications, tools and test environments. The position also
requires Testing skills with the person possessing Project Test Lead
capabilities to create meaningful deliverables such as a Test Plan, Test
Schedule and Test summary report. Also the individual must be able to lead
and coordinate test team work efforts and possess strong communications and
teamwork skills to work with a wide variety of individuals and roles to
understand the application software changes and determine the appropriate
testing approach.
