*Here are the requirement details:* *Position : Windows LAN Administrator* *Location : Long Island City, NY* *Duration : 12+ months* *Need In-person interview. There will not be any telephonic rounds.* *Position Functions or Responsibilities:* - Implement and support network disk and tape backup and disaster recovery. - Administer a network of up to thirty five hundred (3,500) workstations or assists in administration of a large site or network, utilizing one or more TCP/IP protocols. - Provide technical consulting services to department/organization regarding use of computers and networks to satisfy business needs. - Install, configure, and maintain personal computers, Windows networks, file servers, Ethernet networks, network cabling, and other related equipment, devices, and systems; adds or upgrades and configures modems, disk drives, data acquisition boards, CD ROM units, printers, and related equipment. - Perform and/or oversee software installation, and network operating system upgrades; maintain site licenses for department/organization. - Plan and implement network security, including building firewalls, applying cryptography to network applications, managing host security, file permissions, and file system integrity, and adding and deleting users. - Troubleshoot networks, systems, and applications to identify and correct malfunctions and other operational difficulties. - Knowledge of virtualization technology – installation, planning, maintenance - Knowledge of network architecture/ design (VLANs) - Knowledge of installing/using NAS storage (SCSI, SAN, FIBER) - May lead and/or guide the work of other staff engaged in similar functions. - Maintain knowledge with respect to relevant state-of-the-art technology, equipment, and/or systems. * * *Basic Qualifications:* - *Must have 5 years Windows Server Administration experience.* - *Must have 5 years Active Directory Administration experience.* - *Must have 5 years Network Administration experience. * - *Must have experience Windows 2000, 2003, 2008 and network operating systems.* - *Experience in Active Directory, domain administration and the primary network services.
