*DB2 DBA* *Location –* Baltimore, MD * * *Duration* – Long Term *Rate/hr* – *Interview* - Phone + In Person *Position Description: *This work effort involves providing DB2 DBA maintenance and development support of mainframe DB2 application databases in all environments (development, validation, integration, and production). The resource will migrate the database through the life cycle and create the maintenance jobs to support the database in all environments as it goes through them. The DBA will be participating in the troubleshooting of slow running applications to determine modification to enhance performance. Direct interaction with the application development teams will be required. Additionally, working knowledge of DB2 Version 9 and the new XML features is desired in order to aid SSA in utilizing the new feature. * * *Skills Requirements: * · Mainframe DB2 DBA experience at least Version 8, Version 9 experience is a bonus · Prior experience in mainframe application development accessing DB2 databases · A strong knowledge of how read/tune SQL is required · Experience with CA DB2 tools · Experience with Ommegamon for DB2 · Excellent verbal and written communication skills · Ability to independently research problems and provide solutions · May be requested to mentor client/LM staff · Will be required to provide weekend/off-hours support * * *Education and Certifications: * · BA/BS degree + 11 years of IT experience at various levels of DBA administration Please send candidates with resume, name, e-mail address, phone number, rate, and current location.
