DB2 Database Administrator Location: Smithfield, RI Duration: 6 months Req Details: . Distributed DB2 Database Administrator/Engineer to lead the BI/ETL/Reporting Services Team primarily with possible changes into other data management roles. Qualifications Education and Experience . 5-7+ years of in-depth knowledge in DB2 8.x and 9.x experience in non-windows (AIX & Linux preferred) environment. Strong technical skill in DB2 stored procedures, SQL performance tuning, data federation, shell scripting, and other popular ETL tools is a must. . Must maintain a high degree of expertise in the use of the tools and methodologies of data analysis, particularly repository and data modeling; as well as providing technical direction, assistance and training in the use of these tools and methodologies. . Must show strong technical background of database architecture, as well as make recommendations to customers following the corporations' best practice. . Strong presentation, analytical, diagnostic and creative problem solving skills, unafraid to take calculated risks. . Must demonstrate ability to communicate at a business function level with IS personnel, customers and management, in both verbal and written communication. . Bachelor's degree preferred (fit, attitude, basic understanding, and experience are heavily weighted) . Excellent communication, project management, and relationship management skills o Lead and/or participate in virtual or matrixed cross functional team and build partnership relationships across the enterprise o Managing client relationships for multiple projects of varying complexity o Proactively seek opportunities to partner with customers/partners o Highly developed oral and written communications, ability to communicate at all levels of an organization and across multiple, dynamic, Business Units; ability to build rapport with a complex client base across a broad technology product family; knowledge of marketing and requirements intake is a plus o Proven record for organization, follow through, and ability to deliver .
