SQL Server DBA with DB2 Database Experience Location: CHICAGO, IL Duration: 3 months Req Details: Summary The primary responsibility for this role is to perform database administration functions in a Microsoft SQL Server and IBM DB2 environments including but not limited to; security access, performance tuning, capacity planning, and database replication/backups Technical Requirements . 4+ years of direct administration with relational databases primarily in a Microsoft SQL Server 2003/2005 and IBM DB2 version 9.5 or higher environments .4+ years of direct responsibilities performing DBA work in a high availability production environment .4+ years of experience troubleshooting performance problems, and performing application releases .4+ years experience in T-SQL / SQL / DB2 tuning, writing stored procedures, functions and complex queries .4+ years of UNIX shell scripting .3+ years proficiency in the use of SQL Server profiler, advisor and related tools, bcp, data export/import .Be able to automate day-to-day activities like database backups, monitoring and maintenance .Microsoft and/or IBM Certifications a plus .Knowledge of Eclipse, Liquibase, SVN and Maven a plus .Skills to implement performance tuning process using standard SQL/DB2 server utilities .Knowledge to support and perform maintenance and tuning activities on existing database sub-systems within the application development environments and document solutions for delivery to production .Work with Architects, Managers and other DBAs in relation to the planning, design and execution of database administration and development activities using most recent database and software development tools and methodologies Recruiting Requirements Bachelors degree, or equivalent experience, in Computer Science or equivalent education and experience Four (4) to eight (8) years progressive experience in database field Outstanding analytical and problem solving skills Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills Demonstrated success in managing customer requirements or demands Excellent attention to detail Ability to anticipate problems and take decisive action Experience with supporting multiple projects/tasks simultaneously Health insurance background is desired Regards Kamal Econosoft Inc Contact: 408-521-1140 Ext 4833 Fax: 775-923-8767 [email protected] WWW.Econosoftinc.com Disclaimer: We respect your Online Privacy.
