I’m looking for a candidate that will be hands on not only managing a team
but growing the team, we currently do not have an automation team so the
candidate will provide the framework and vision and help execute on vision,
the team currently consist of 2 QTP developers supporting 1 initiative,
looking to grow the teams capabilities rapidly, would consider a technical
SME looking to ease into a management role while driving and mentoring
current initiatives.

Mercury Testing Tools QC * 8+ Yrs.
MS Office Applications 8+ Yrs.
QC automated test scripts * 8+ Yrs.
QC Defect tracking / Defect Management experience * 8+ Yrs.
QC Expertise * Yes
Rational Rose 5+ Yrs.
SQL 5+ Yrs.
UNIX 5+ Yrs.
UNIX Shell Scripts 5+ Yrs.
VB Script 5+ Yrs.
WinRunner 5+ Yrs.




*Build Automation Team / Establish requirements
*Project Initiation and Requirements Review
• Meet with TM/TL to determine which initiatives have automation impacts
• Update scorecard with initiatives that have an impact
• Verify with TM/TL that automation is needed and dates estimation is
required
• Review project documents (BRD, Wireframes, etc.)
• Peer review first draft of Automation Test Plan

*Test Planning
*• Ensure functional test plan and test cases are reviewed with functional
team.
• Enter information collected into Estimation Tool and send it to TM, TL, CM
,TDM
• Review detailed script development/execution calendar based on SIT start
and end dates
• Create forecast/resource planning document based on estimates
• Ensure regression automation requests are identified and scheduled
• Provide data requirements to Data Management team
• Review Detailed Scripts Analysis document
• Verify project has received automation estimate.
• Ensure detailed calendar and updated automation test plan is provided to
functional teams
• Ensure test scripts are coded in QTP and that scripts are stored in
Quality Center
• Peer review automation test scripts
• Obtain TM/TL automation script sign-off
• Provide weekly updates to TM/TL on development progress

*Test Execution
*• Manage execution effort to ensure it remains on schedule
• Ensure both requested initiative and regression automation scripts are
executed on plan.
• Ensure automation daily status updates are reported to all key
stakeholders
• Maintain reporting/dashboard to track progress of efforts
• Ensure all scripts are executed on schedule and tracked within QC
• Report defects and escalate issues as needed.
• Ensure all identified defects are resolved and retested
• Collect end of testing feedback from functional team and TDM/TDL.
• Create and manage action plan for any issues that are documented.
• Create generic/reusable solutions that are maintainable and adaptable to
fast changing environments
• Define and implement processes and “best practices” with regard to
automated testing
• Coordinate and implement training plan for automated tool end users
• Provide guidance and instruction to enforce automation best practices and
standards
• Perform Proof of Concepts on next releases of automated testing tools and
strategies
