Job Title: Project Scheduler

Location: Boston, MA.

Duration: 3 months

Max Hourly Rate: USD $40.00

Client currently seeks a Project Scheduler to join our team in Boston,
MA.

Position Functions or Responsibilities:

The selected candidate will perform the following duties

analyze IT related projects to determine necessary project schedules,
due dates and end results that ensure each project is completed
efficiently and within appropriate guidelines;

create Microsoft Project templates, reports and dashboards, and in
conjunction with the project management team, perform analysis of
critical path, project schedule interdependencies, resource
allocation, budget and time tracking;

coordinate with IT Project Managers to evaluate project Work Breakdown
Structure (WBS) to be used in developing project schedules;

coordinate the integration of tasks from multiple projects into a
comprehensive integrated master schedule, including task order
dependencies;

review, monitor and update project schedules for various projects
using MS Project Server with input from project managers as timelines
move forward;

review, monitor and update resource assignments for development and
implementation teams of the various projects;

confer with project teams to ensure timely completion of identified
project deadlines;

review and monitor project schedules while tracking the estimated time
to complete projects and actual project assignments completed;

create, develop and review project and program level reports;

act as IT Project Manager for small projects as needed;

adhere and enforce the Department’s Project Management Guideline
methodology, including preparation of documentation, in order to align
with EDU policies and strategies; and

perform other duties as assigned.

Based on assignment travel throughout the Commonwealth is required.
The successful candidate will possess:
experience setting up and managing projects in MS Project Server 2003
or newer version;
experience creating project dashboards and reports from MS Project
Server;
experience managing small projects;
experience working in a technical setting;
knowledge of project management lifecycle;
knowledge or understanding of the field of education;
knowledge or understanding of information technology projects and
terminology;
ability to work with project managers from multiple departments as a
team;ability to be flexible
and to work independently;strong communication skills;must be
attentive to detail; and strong time management, communicative, and
interpersonal skills.

Other Required Qualifications/Experience:

Qualification: Applicants must have at least (A) three years of
demonstrated experience managing master schedules, in addition to
three years of experience with Microsoft (MS) Project Server.
