Client currently seeks a .Net Developer to join our team in Albany,
NY.

Project Description:

The CONNECTIONS project is an ongoing effort to provide the
development, maintenance, and support activities to maintain New York
State’s Statewide Automated Child Welfare Information System (SACWIS)
for OCFS, LDSS, and Voluntary Agencies.  This system includes the
following components:
•       Child Protective Services (CPS) Intake
•       Child Protective Services (CPS) Investigation
•       Resource Directory & Foster Adoptive Home Development (FAD)
•       Case Management / Family Services (FSS)

This system is a complex and highly integrated application which
consists of several development and end user supported environments.
These environments interface/interact with legacy applications and
other 3rd party software.

The CONNECTIONS Modernization project (CAMP) will phase the
transformation of the application to a .NET based architecture which
will eliminate the reliance on the current framework that is based on
the proprietary Foundation for Cooperative Processing (FCP)
architecture.

Position Functions or Responsibilities:

The CONNECTIONS Architecture Modernization Project (CAMP) is looking
for an individual to fill the position of Client Server Programmer 3
as a member of the Application Development team.  This individual will
be involved with all aspects of the SDLC process working with team
members from design through implementation.

The Client Server Programmer 3 candidate should be experienced and
highly dynamic, creative and motivated type of individual with an
Information Technology background.

The selected candidate will need to quickly understand the
functionality supporting the CAMP project and its effect on the user
community in order to be effective members of the team.

This individual will assist with the CAMP transformation of the
application to a .NET based architecture, eliminating the reliance on
the current framework based on the Foundation for Cooperative
Processing (FCP).

The individual selected is expected to possess (amongst others) the
following skills:
•       Knowledge and understanding of the development activities of large
scale projects
•       System wide vision – the ability to see how the parts interact with
the whole (“big picture” visionary)
•       Ability to articulate and communicate complex technical issues in a
way that non-technical individuals can understand
•       Exceptional interpersonal and mentoring skills
•       Possess strong and proven project management skills
•       Should be customer service orientated
The following activities are indicative of the assignments/outcomes
expected of this individual:
•       Work with the Business Team to understand system and user
requirements for the re-engineering of core system functionality.
Provide explanations of technical capabilities when needed.
•       “Translate” User requirements into technical designs/outlines for
Application developers
•       Assist with the CAMP transformation of the application to a .NET
based architecture, eliminating the reliance on the current framework
based on the Foundation for Cooperative Processing (FCP).
•       Developing appropriate system documentation
•       Provide support during the execution of stress/load tests
•       Work with the CONNECTIONS Business and Technical subject matter
experts (SMEs) staff reviewing architect designs and develop
appropriate system documentation
•       Development of application code
•       Assist business analysts in the creation of test scripts, use cases
to support product test activities
•       Support/participate in product test and user test activities.
•       Facilitate the knowledge transfer between the Technical IT staff and
the Program staff responsible for testing, training, and
implementation
Assist Implementations staff, when needed, reviewing system release
notes

Qualification:  1. Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology (IT) and
four years related field or eight years direct experience in IT
software development..
Minimum Years Required: 4
