MINIMUM SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:



1.            C# .NET programming experience (Framework 2.0, 3.5 preferable)
within a client/server environment using Oracle and/or SQL Server

2.            Good understanding of software development principles,
processes and technology

3.            Knowledge of logical database structures; good working
knowledge of SQL language; ability to analyze, manage, tune database queries
for performance; knowledge of relational database concepts; best practices

4.            Good analytical, conceptual and problem solving skills to
evaluate business problems and apply knowledge to identify appropriate
solutions

5.            Good interpersonal skills

6.            Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing

7.            Strong organizational skills; time management skills;
attention to detail

8.            Knowledge of computers to operative effectively with Microsoft
Office Suite of applications; Windows XP, Windows 7, Windows Server 2008

9.            Good understanding of object oriented programming principles



BENEFICIAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:



1.            Programming experience with serial port (not USB)
communications

2.            Programming experience with TCP/IP socket communications

3.            Programming experience with PLC hardware

4.            Programming experience with handheld/PDA devices using
wireless networking for access to Oracle and/or SQL Server

5.            Oracle DBA experience including disaster recovery and
performance tuning

Designs, documents, tests, and modifies current and new software development
applications; creates and/or reviews requirements documents and helps to
develop solutions in order to meet these requirements; contributes to
specific assignments and performs work which require application of standard
techniques, procedures, and criteria in carrying out a sequence of related
engineering activities.



PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.            Designs, codes and unit tests design solutions.

2.            Contributes effectively as a member of the team; takes
ownership of individual assignments with support from more senior Engineers
as necessary.

3.            Provides third tier support when required, including travel to
customer sites

4.            Participates in beta installations on customer sites

5.            Participates in and/or leads activities such as reviewing
marketing requirements, writing and reviewing software functional
specifications, and design reviews.

6.            Contributes to the development and achievement of
organizational goals and objectives.

7.            Performs related duties as assigned.

8.            Participate in system testing processes

9.            Creates detailed designs, performs analyses, creates
prototypes, and documents completed designs.

10.          Mentors and directs the efforts of more entry-level Engineers.

11.          Functions as task, project, or team leader when assigned;
represents the organization on project teams and may perform technical
project leadership roles while fostering teamwork and collaboration within
and across work groups.

12.          Provides input for Software Development budgeting and
scheduling.

13.          Provides input for Software Development software and hardware
purchases.



EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:



Requires technical training in the computer science and/or engineering
field, generally obtained through completion of a four year bachelor’s
degree program or equivalent combination of experience and education.
Normally requires a minimum of four (4) to seven (7) years directly related
and progressively responsible experience.
