*Database Administrator (Govt.experience is a required)* Location: *Boston**, MA** ** *Contract Length –* Through 6/30/11, possibility of renewal* Rate: *$40 per/hr on c2c* *IN PERSON INTERVIEW IS A MUST AFTER A SUCCESSFUL TELEPHONIC ROUND!!!!* Database Administrator who will be responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining database structures to support business needs and application development of .NET Web Applications. Ensuring SQL and database performance will be a key requirement. This person will coordinate, review, analyze and approve the physical database requirements of databases and all associated objects; such as, but not limited to the applications that access the RDBMS structures and will be expected to provide resolution to trouble tickets, satisfy ad-hoc requests and perform database software upgrades and general bug resolution/troubleshooting. The client has many applications and databases that require a DBAs attention as well as assistance in setting up and promoting databases for a new COTS application. * Develop, implement, and maintain RDBMS data structures in all environments utilizing current standards and procedures. * Create and maintain the SQL Server standby server for production environment, and help the agency to create a disaster recovery plan. * Provide technical expertise, direction and leadership to other team members; review and fine tune SQL scripts, stored procedures, functions and triggers before releasing to production. * Provide performance-related and system support for RDBMS data structures in all environments utilizing current toolsets. * Responsible for ensuring the database and related SQL are running at optimum levels and that the data involved is secure and accurate. * Responsible for backups made on a regular basis, all system changes are well-documented and all database code is managed in the source code system. *Knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to be successful in this role include:* * Experience in SQL Server 2005/2008 * Ability to perform database and SQL performance analysis and to make tuning changes, including but not limited to the use of SQL Profiler * Expertise in the use and design of SQL Server Analysis Services 2008 * Expertise in the use of SQL Server Reporting Services 2008 * Experience estimating storage requirements for an application * Excellent verbal and written communication skills * Ability to work individually or within a team environment * Ability to take direction and work to specified deadlines * Displays professionalism and a commitment to quality * Experience with design and maintenance of data warehouse *Required education and experience includes:* * Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field plus a minimum of 5 years work experience with Relational Database Management Systems with SQL Server 2005/2008 * Minimum 5 years work experience with Relational Database Management Systems with a combination of SQLSERVER 2005/2008 In order to apply for same, send me your updated resume along with 3 professional references and let me know the best time to reach you.
