Sr. Oracle DBA Location: Santa Clara, CA Duration : 6 Months Under the general supervision of the Sr. Manager, Operations, and in collaboration with lead DBA and project managers, Part of the Operations team as a database administrator helping deliver high availability OLTP database service. Responsibilities: Install and maintain Oracle 10g/11g databases in high-transaction OLTP production environments (in-depth knowledge of supporting production environments in a secure and audited SAS70 compliant environment). Perform database tuning in standalone Oracle and Oracle RAC clusters, involving DB tuning techniques, data partitioning and application partitioning Resolve database performance issues, database capacity issues, distributed data issues. Institute procedure for common Database Administration tasks (export/import, backups, storage management, monitoring, replication, upgrades, and schema changes) on Oracle or MS-SQL server. Limited 24x7 availability to respond to database alerts and resolve database issues. Design, review logical data models and implement physical data models. Manage backup and recovery of databases. Manage security of database structures and corporate data held within databases. Develop database procedures, triggers and SQL scripts for development teams. Assist in the definition and implementation of database standards. Monitor databases for errors and perform problem determination when necessary. Design and implement highly available production systems. Some knowledge of MS SQL databases as well. Requirements: * Experience with Oracle, Oracle RAC, MS-SQL server database administration and performance tuning. Experience with installing and configuring MySQL is also desirable.
