*Overview:*

 Responsible for the design, development and deployment of systems
components, including enterprise infrastructure, information systems, ERP
applications, and Internet technologies.

   - Projects are typically focused on both software and hardware
   components.
   - Evaluates existing systems to understand capabilities and recommend
   solutions.
   - Work with non-technical business owners to understand needs and develop
   a technical solution.
   - Participates in the layout design and installation of new systems or
   modification of existing systems.
   - Develop and manage systems integration projects.
   - Identifies and resolves existing system deficiencies.
   - Must have strong communication skills to interact with business
   counterparts.
   - 10+ years of prior systems engineering experience in large enterprise
   environments is required.
   - Experienced in DMX Storage, SRDF, BCV technology.
   - Knowledgeable about MDS SAN, Lun Masking, Zones etc .
   - Familiarity with IBM SVC storage.

*Detailed description:*

   - Design, document and build infrastructure components related to storage
   solution requirements from application, systems and database teams
   - Design and develop monitoring systems that provide proactive, rather
   than reactive notifications to key business units and IT members
   - Will perform on-going optimization of the systems to ensure adequate
   capacity, availability and scalability. Performance monitoring and
   optimization of distributed storage environments
   - Ensure Storage Capacity is well understood and that strategies are in
   place to grow and shrink capacity as needed and well in advance of problems
   - Serve as escalation point for all storage-related incidents
   - Ensure that root causes of storage-related problems are understood and
   repaired
   - Prepares reports and presentations and necessary.
   - Coordinates communication between peers, team, business owners and
   management
   - Available to support after hours and be available to support on call
   24X7.
   - Prioritize and manage concurrent projects, demonstrate initiative and
   work independently with minimal supervision.
   - Provision storage for HP-UX, AIX, Windows Server 2003 and 2008, SQL
   Server 2008 and Fileservers, and VMware ESX/ESXi .
   - Red Hat Linux, HP-UX
   - Management and maintenance of physical fiber optic network for SAN
   fabric environment
   - Be able to communicate with customer personnel at all levels (technical
   & managerial) in terms that non-storage personnel can understand
   - Be a key contributor to the Storage Council (an internal storage
   governance and strategy planning body) as required
   - Be familiar with storage industry trends, offerings and major suppliers




*Skills:*

   - Bachelor’s degree in computer technology discipline or equivalent of 5+
   years experience as a Storage Administrator.
   - 5+ years experience in IT infrastructure design and architecture across
   multiple distributed storage technologies - including SAN, NAS, SAS and
   DASD.
   - 5+ years hands-on experience with least 2 of the following SAN/NAS
   platforms: EMC, IBM, NetApp, Cisco and Brocade.
   - Knowledge of EMC Symmetrix, SRDF, Timefinder, EMC Control Center.
   - Experience in IBM DS8000s and SVC is a big plus.
