Position: Java Developer Location: Jacksonville, FL Duration: 12+ month contract Required Skills: Web Sphere Application Server Web Sphere Portal RUP Java / Java 2 Standard Edition J2EE JOB DESCRIPTION: *Responsible for the detail design documentation, development, unit testing and maintenance of internally developed applications and externally purchased software products *Write code for system designs that span platforms *Code to and create Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) *Write code for enhancing existing programs or developing new programs *Write detailed technical specifications for subsystems and identify integration points *Estimate project timelines and resources required to complete programming projects *Perform unit testing and debugging and set test conditions based on code specifications *Supports application throughout the Product Development life cycle *Coordinate with areas for integration architecture solutions and determine the integration approach *Review vendor research and gap analysis, make vendor recommendation to technical team and client JOB REQUIREMENTS: 4 or more years of experience using IBM products such as IBM RAD, Web Sphere Application Server(WAS 7.0) 4+ years of solid Programming experience using J2EE, Spring, Struts, JSP, JSF, MQ Series, XML , DOM, XSLT, XPATH, JAXB, and Ajax. Good experience in Webspehere Portal technologies Experience applying J2EE patterns and Frameworks to application solutions Knowledge of System Development Life Cycle, product development methodologies, database methodologies and system integration Experience with Linux and Windows operating systems Knowledge of coding design and documentation protocol as well as unit testing, change management and release procedures Experience using SQL or similar query language Experience using versioning tools - IBM Rational products Verbal and written communication and documentation skill Business Specific Criteria (preferred skills): *Healthcare Industry knowledge *Experience with RUP methodology and rational tools *Experience in IBM Web Sphere Portal and object oriented technologies *Demonstrated experience programming using java and J2EE *Knowledge of System Development Life Cycle, product development methodologies, database methodologies and system integration *Experienced applying J2EE security, Concurrency, Transactions, Session Management, J2EE Patterns, and Frameworks to application solutions ADDITIONAL SKILLS: Good communication skill is a must.
