Title: Sr. Sharepoint Engineer Location: Herndon, VA Duration: Full Time Salary: 70k/year Only US Citizen or Green Card required Posting Job Description: The Time Warner Cable Corporate office currently seeks a Senior SharePoint Engineer for our TSG, Solutions Development and Support team. Below please find a brief description of the essential duties and responsibilities required to function successfully in this position. Essential Job Functions: Design, develop, test, debug and support web based distributed applications with major emphasis on SharePoint applications . Provide input, prepare and analyze technical documents such as product requirements, functional specifications, detailed design documents, implementation plans, risk assessments, test plans, and release notes. Job Requirements: As a senior member of the technical team, participate in all required phases of full lifecycle product development and provide subject matter expert level development, support and maintenance for the tools and services managed by the team. Working with the Principal Engineers, members of the team, engineering and business resources, help define optimal short and long term system architecture for our customers needs, including researching new technologies and supporting proof of concepts projects. Attend team meetings and provide input to validate system design and development; represent group in cross-functional and cross-departmental meetings. Consult with hardware engineers and other engineering staff to evaluate interface metrics between hardware, software and network components in support of operational and performance requirements Development of complex and sophisticated solutions utilizing Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010, Windows SharePoint Foundation, and Visual Studio as well as various other .NET components Design of solutions that leverage out-of-the-box SharePoint functionality Development of custom SharePoint-based components, web parts, features, and templates Working with lead development group to design SharePoint solutions that satisfy business requirements Integration of SharePoint components with legacy systems, creation and consumption of Web Services in SharePoint solutions Adherence to Time Warner Cable development methodologies and configuration control processes Travel Requirements 5-10% Preferred Qualifications: The successful candidate must possess three to five years experience in full lifecycle development of web and database-centric applications. Two to three years experience with web portal product development, SharePoint, XML, ASP.NET, and web services. At least one year of experience developing with SharePoint 2010, at least 2 years of MOSS 2007. Experience working with high volume web sites, enterprise-level systems integration, reporting, e-commerce, and billing system interfaces are a plus. Two to three years experience working in Customer Service or within a 24/7/365 IT support environment. Must be able to analyze problems, solve them creatively and document the event. Must be self-motivated and be able to work with minimal supervision. The ideal candidate will demonstrate outstanding communication skills capable of effectively working with both senior technical resources and business customers. Must be able to develop a strong knowledgebase of products, features and services and understand how our customers use them. Needs the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and to be able to prioritize and complete specified tasks on time. This senior position requires the ability to interact professionally with all groups and organizations working with or for the company and to be able to communicate effectively in that role.
