Design, build, and implement a statewide Child Support Enforcement System and
Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court system.
Position Details
Consultant Role/Responsibilities or Tasks on Project:
· Planning and Configuring databases for high availability and disaster
recovery including clustering, replication and backup/restore processes.
· Monitor and tune a database to provide a high availability service.
· Work with the Development and performance testing teams to identify
database related areas that needs improvements.
· Provide assistance with Deployments, backup and restore.
· Analyze the database and data model and identify potential risks with
respect to security and performance.
Job Description:
The SQL Server Application DBA is required to take ownership of all the
databases in the Development and testing areas and address all the database and
schema related issues. Also, the DBA need to work with the developers in
creating efficient queries for better performance. The DBA needs to assist the
testing and implementation teams in loading and maintaining reference data in
the Line of Business database.
Skills Required
• Thorough understanding of Microsoft SQL Server Architecture
At least 10 years of experience in designing, implementing, and tuning very
large (600+ Tables, 1 TB Data) Microsoft SQL Server 2008 databases
Planning and Configuring databases for high availability and disaster recovery
including clustering, replication and backup/restore processes
Practical experience in monitoring and tuning a database to provide a high
availability service.
• Knowledge of ORM tools such as nHibernate
• Must be able to fine-tune HQL.
• Good understanding of n-tier architectures.
Demonstrates exceptionally strong written and verbal communication skills.
Strong problem solving skills
