Location: Troy, MI Duration: 6+ months Rate: Up to 50/hr Start date: ASAP Interview Question: 1) How strong are you in SQL development in an Oracle environment? 2) Have you done development in Oracle PL/SQL , if yes then how much? 3) How experience are you with PL/SQL vs. using a tool for ETL? This is a backfill for a person whom did not work out on this position. They need someone who has extensive experience working with Oracle tools, PL/SQL, SQL Scripting, and experience in the Data Warehouse space. This person should also have extensive experience with Star Schemas. Key Personality Traits: 1) Strong problem solving skills 2) Ability to pro-actively determine next steps in a project or task (requires minimal supervision, knows when to escalate) 3) Quick learner Background and Experience required: 1) 6+ years Data Warehouse experience in a technical role of large relational data warehouses. Experience with Oracle databases preferred 2) Implementation experience with ETL concepts and tools (such as Data Migrator, Informatica, Data Stage, Ascential) is a "nice to have". 3) Emphasis on SQL especially within the ORACLE space. 4) Strong knowledge of data warehousing concepts in relational databases. 5) Strong understanding of dimensional data models. 6) Strong understanding of building out reporting as part of a comprehensive BI solution is a "nice to have". 7) High standards of customer service. 8) Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field. 9) Ability to collaborate in a team environment, offering vital information where necessary. 10) Ability to work closely with system/solution architects and other team members. 11) Ability to communicate effectively to both technical and business leaders, working well with Developers, Managers, and DBAs. 12) Experience in data integration/warehousing is preferred. 13) Experience using Microsoft Office suite of products especially Word, Excel, and Access. 14) Requirements analysis, data assessment, business process reengineering, and familiarity with data warehousing design concepts. 15) Good understanding of data warehousing project life cycle, especially tasks within the ETL phase.
