from scratch on a new module they are implementing. Beyond core java, this
is an SOA environment (working in specific modules) working on web requests
(JSON and REST). Nationwide is fine.. *

Need MM DD and last 4 SS for submittal.

*Qualifications / Requirements *

*• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent required. (MS
desired)
• 5+ years’ development experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong understanding of writing *web services* in Java.
• Experience with industry standard frameworks (*Spring, Hibernate, JUnit*).

• *Experience with JavaScript, Ajax, Tomcat, REST, and JSON preferred*.
• Flexible, proactive, and quick learner that possesses a strong team
attitude.

This position entails working within the WestlawNext legal research
product, implementing customer-facing functionality as part of a relatively
small team (~6 - 8 developers). The work is scoped to one of our Java
modules (“WebContent”) which provides a façade of virtual content (both
editorially created and database-driven) to the client tier. Expectations
are set at the same level as our other engineers, which include a high
degree of quality, significant unit test coverage, standardized
conventions, and industry best practices. The role requires a good
understanding of working with product owners to derive feedback and
directly implement business requirements. The project is run using an Agile
methodology involving two-week iterations, daily scrums, and rapid
feedback-oriented development.*

Primary Job Duties
• Researches, designs, develops and integrates applications at a
senior-level as per written specifications.
• Develop new software in accordance with written specifications.
• Develop software using the Agile development lifecycle, adhering to
industry standards and software engineering best practices.
• Essential day-to-day responsibilities include performing coding
assignments, unit testing, ensuring development standards are being
followed, analyzing functional specifications, producing technical
specifications and unit testing scripts, and participating in team code
reviews and impact assessments.
• Participate in project planning sessions with team members to analyze
development requirements, provide design options, and provide work
breakdown and estimates of work.
• Recommends solutions for software enhancements.
• Provide accurate and timely status reports on work progress.
• Other duties may include defect research/resolution and/or assistance in
technical documentation.
• Review work of peers and junior developers.
• Provides technical guidance and coaching to more junior team members.
