The ideal candidate will have experience on PDI, report designer and Pentaho CDF. They are planning to focus on Pentaho to use ETL tool (PDI) to create a new data warehouse and migrate existing reports and dashboards. Senior BI Engineer We are looking for a self-starting and dynamic business intelligence and database developer to lead the development, management and integration of business intelligence into custom built, enterprise-class SaaS web billing solution. We have solid web-based initiatives that are making greater and greater use of analytics and business intelligence toolkits. We are looking for an individual that can work with our application developers to take our use of these tools to the next level. Responsibilities: • Lead and provide technical oversight to the analysis, design, development, implementation, evaluation, monitoring and support for BI (business intelligence) solutions, involving ETL (extract, transform, load) development and database design. • Perform ETL development for complex procedures and performance tuning of data warehouse and ETL processes. • Develop logical database design which facilitates business process improvement, data re-use and sharing, and seamless communication between applications. • Develop physical data models using a dimensional data approaches which includes: detailed specification of data elements, data types, indexing options and other parameters residing in the DBMS data dictionary. • Work with other business units to design specific subset of data warehouse for producing analytical data stores. • Facilitate the build of a warehouse to produce data marts that meet the business requirements. • Investigate the capability of available BI solutions to provide better and more BI services to the customers. • Work on performance tuning and optimization of BI software solutions including metadata models, reports, analytics, data integration, data warehouse and data marts. Requirements: * Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering or related IT field * STRONG experience with Pentaho * 5+ years experience as a developer in a business intelligence or data warehousing environment * 5+ years experience using SQL and PL/SQL in a business intelligence environment (Oracle or MySQL) * Extensive data warehousing/business intelligence development, dimensional modeling, ETL strategy and architecture experience * Strong understanding of data analysis, data and process modeling and relational database concepts * Excellent communication skills - both verbal and written * have a strong background on both a Unix or Linux OS * Deep knowledge of SQL including the creation and optimization of necessary database objects including stored procedures, tables, views, triggers, indexes, user-defined functions and performance tuning. * Expertise in building cubes and programming OLAP with MDX and SQL queries and experience with Analysis Services (SSAS) and Reporting Services (SSRS) including database development, deployment, configuration, security and troubleshooting Have a nice day and I look forward to working with you!
