Develops Linux based platform software for a complex distributed control
system for an industrial device. The role will include all aspects of the
product development lifecycle – planning, requirements, design, code, test
and Maintenance.
Plans, designs, develops and tests software systems or applications for
software enhancements and new products. Most companies should be able to
match to a specific software development engineer position.
- Maintains and develops Linux based platform software and relational
database.
- Generates software requirements, design documents, interface control
documents and unit test plans.
- Adheres (software development process).
- Leads/participates in SEPG activities
- Works with complex hardware interfaces in a real-time environment.
- Writes software requirements, detailed design documents, develops and
performs unit testing of real-time embedded or application software.
- Analyzes root causes of a distributed control system & architecture.
- Provides technical leadership and performs software development in
software engineering projects of moderate to significant complexity.
- Articulates (verbal and written) the design decisions and
implementations made to management at and its development partners.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
A seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of area of
specialization; resolves a wide range of issues in creative ways. This
level is the fully qualified position. May assist more junior staff members
with aspects of their job.
Works on moderately complex problems of diverse scope where analysis of
data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Demonstrates good
judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
Networks with senior internal and external personnel in own area of
expertise.

- Ability to translate, statistically analyzes data, and effectively
report problems through written and/or graphical formats.
- Excellent customer service skills, with an advanced understanding of
customer relationship building.
- Ability to use MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and electronic e-mail
systems.
- Ability to follow a Software Development Process that includes
elements of planning, estimation, gathering and analyzing requirements,
developing concepts and designs, implementation, developing and executing
test plans’ and engaging in work product reviews.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions
from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- Ability to read, analyzes, and interprets general business
periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental
regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure
manuals.
- Ability to define problems collects data, establish facts, and draw
valid conclusions.
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in
mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete
variables.
Strong competence with the various tools, procedures, programming
languages used to accomplish the job. Minimum of five (5) years of
experience is required.
Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Computer
Engineering.
- Experience in software engineering processes, including Software
configuration management and the ability to read and create project
documentation of the highest quality.
- Knowledge and ability to work with oscilloscopes, and signal
generators.
- Experience in C++/ and Python programming.
