I have had some success using a tool called Codesighs - it's essentially a 
postprocessor of readelf.

readelf command on the desktop host linux. There is also a similar command in 
your cross-compiler package, for example powerpc-405-linux-gnu-readelf for my 
powerpc embedded linux. You can try to see if they work.
