Busybox has been great to me, in developing for my 486. However, one issue has been giving me trouble - the crap ar implementation that can't write or modify archives.
I can, of course, get around this by using a host system's ar to create the archives (during a buidl, for example), but it does get a bit ridiculous. The main thing that made me very annoyed is the fact that busybox itself cannot build without the ar s option - which is not present in busybox's ar.
