As xmalloc_open_read_close() will die on any /proc/xxx file on 2.6.25 due to lseek being invalid I think it would be a good idea to add a fix to 1.10.1. The fixes to start-stop-daemon deserve to be addressed too as daemons may fail to start/stop otherwise.
