also, it would make alot of sense to state each of the following: - which shell you're trying to use, we got lots (attach your .config) - how you compiled busybox (toolchain, again you should have attached your .config, too; Special flags you passed iff you did) - feed your question to google, which in turn should have brought up http://busybox.net/FAQ.html#init - your inittab, kernel-version, evnetually odd kernel stuff you turned off or on, etc. You are not telling us enough to try to guesstimate what could have gone wrong, really (and that's why i initially did not ment to reply to such an incomplete request for help, i have to admit)..
