Aren't you confused by the fact that getgrnam() has to open /etc/group again? Or I'm wrong? What we are supposed to fetch? The (sorted?) list of the first token (or, if we want gids, third token) of /etc/group lines which contain a specific string (username) in the fourth token? I think this algorythm is quite clear ;)
