True! That is why I'm asking what is going on, with this discussion. Why
is it required to change anything? Please don't make working things worse!

There is one old issue with buffer flushing before line setup that
effects getty. In addition getty should flush all input from tty before
writing anything to tty and specially accepting any input (for security
purposes) ... but input flushing doesn't hang/produce any trouble.
