if you want to know how a POSIX shell should behave, look at the POSIX spec: http://pubs.opengroup.org/onlinepubs/9699919799/utilities/V3_chap02.html if you want to know how bash extensions should behave, read bash's man page or try running it. these are really the only two things that matter to busybox. -mike
