I've been using busybox vi on an embedded platform and occasionally need to edit a few bytes to make them non-printable characters, rather than add xxd to my busybox install I was thinking about adding the functionality similar to vim that allows ctrl^x followed by 2 hex characters to input a character by hex value ( http://vim.wikia.com/wiki/Entering_special_characters#By_character_value). Would this by a beneficial patch to add or am I over-complicating things?
