i have test with BusyBox v1.31.1

$cat test.sh
echo abcdefghijk > a
echo 12345 > b
cat a b
cat a b > bar
cat bar

/bin/ash test.sh
abcdefghijk
12345
abcdefghijk
12345

same when done manually, hope that helps

Do you mean there is a bug somewhere and you just fix it for yourself ?

What about fixing it for everyone ? Where you able to identify whether it is a 
kernel bug or not ?
