Dear Members, Last Sunday (21.09.2008), the Kolkata team visited Altarah in Hooghly district. This area has a unique habitat of mango tree plantations and bamboo plantations. On one side of the locality there is a vast marsh-land. The weather was very clear throughout the day. A total of 44 butterfly species were observed (list attached, prepared by Subhankar Patra).
