Thanks.
Butterflies are usually doing this when you see them puddling. This I
believe is to absorb salts. Males use the sodium salts and amino acids to
better their chances during reproduction. I have seen this "jet
expelling" behavior in Paris Peacock too.
The experts on the forum can shed more light on this phenomenon.
