Since caterpillars of the Yellow Gorgon (Meandrusa payeni), and probably the
Brown Gorgon (M. sciron) as well, feed on Litsea cubeba (Lauraceae), the chance
of finding these two butterflies will be significantly greater in areas where
this and congeneric trees/shrubs grow. FYI on the appearance of the Yellow
Gorgon's unusual pupa: http://www.hkls-forum.org/viewtopic.php?t=1180.

Best wishes,

Keith

Dear Kiran,
I have not yet seen Yellow Gorgon during my several visits from Uttarakhand to
Arunachal Pradesh, but yes I did see Brown Gorgon only once while in Sikkim. I
am sure there should be few good areas for Gorgons in the Himalayan region. As
such there have been very few sightings of these two Gorgon species.
Photographs too have been just a few handful. Even in BNHS collections there
are few specimen.
Cheers!
Isaac
