Dear friends,
Pls consider this the invite for the 'Earth Mela 2009 - The Carbon
Reversal Movement' to be organised on April 22, 2009 at Maharashtra
Nature Park. Please forward this to all your friends, colleagues,
neighbours and family members and other e-groups you maybe present on.
We are in a critically delayed in sending this invite due to problems
with our funding support So please feel free to foward the e-invite to
as many people as you can, especially school and college teachers, play
school groups and housing colony notice boards, as well as mahila mandal
or moohalla and kitty groups, any media contacts or other resourceful
people.
Any help on that front would be greatly appreciated.

We are hoping to generate a team of 3-4000 people motivated to bring
down their carbon emissions and lead the way in Climate Change efforts.

THE E-INVITE FOR THE EARTH MELA 2009

Dear Green Citizen,

Did you suffer the July 26 deluge or the temperature hitting 410C last
week? Do you believe that Climate Change (CC) and Global Warming (GW)
are not just gimmicks of the scientific community?

And yet, at the same time, you feel helpless and tiny to undo this
monstrous catastrophe? Then join SPROUTS Environment Trust's EARTH
MELA 2009 - `A Carbon Reversal Movement', a movement that
strongly believes in making tomorrow a greener and cleaner one.

Earth Day - April 22, 2009, is the day in your life, when you need to
apply for leave from work and spend the whole day with family & kids,
neighbours, friends and even office colleagues. On this day, SPROUTS is
going to transform the premises of the Maharashtra Nature Park (Mahim,
Dharavi) into an engaging, fun, interactive festival to empower all the
participants with easy-to-implement ideas to reduce our carbon footprint
(carbon emissions) & to create more ways to fix carbon via carbon sinks!

So here's your chance to join in making this world a better place to
live in, for all Earth inhabitants!

Cycle for Carbon Reversal (a bicycle rally) 7:00 am - 9:00 am

Encouraging citizens to go low on their vehicular emissions

Picture (I'm) Perfect (a film festival) 10:30 am - 4:30 pm

Screening of short films about our wildlife and efforts across the world
working towards stemming the effects of climate change & global warming.

Door-Step Biodiversity (a photo-exhibition) 10:30 am - 6:00 pm

Taking the viewers to the beautiful lap of Nature and Natural Treasures
and create a sense of love for our biodiversity, while highlighting the
risks they face due to climate change.

The Butterfly Effect (stalls/demos) 10:30 am - 6:00 pm

Giving children, youth, adults, seniors and professionals
easy-to-implement ideas which will cumulatively contribute to a big
change in our attitude and the global environmental scenario.
Essentially, triggering the `Carbon Reversal Movement'!

The Spirit of Adventure (training) 10:30 am - 6:00 pm

Rock-climbing, rappelling, Zip-line or Commando Bridge, not only prepare
you for helping each others in critical situations of floods,
environmental disasters or accidents, but also make you mentally ready
to engage in some serious conservation!

Ecological-Footprint Game (game) 10:30 am - 6:00 pm

Allowing you to calculate your own Carbon & Ecological Footprint. It is
a fun way to learn about how you are impacting the Earth and how you can
reduce your personal carbon emission and try to become `Carbon
Neutral'.
