Dear Rohan

I have been to orissa only once but during that visit I have traveled
across length and breadth of Orissa. As per my information and observations
Similipal is amazing place for butterflying during that season. Only problem
is that its a tiger reserve and also has elephant population, so arranging
permission will be your important task. But even if you could not enter
hearts of reserve, there are pretty nice areas on fringes where you find a
nice population of butterflies. In the south orissa south west coast of
chilika lake there are nice hilly comlpexes. These hill directly connect
eastern ghats of andhra pradehs where 6th butterfly meet took place. So here
you can expect butterflies like orchid tit, orange oakleaf, blue crow. I
haven't visited west of orissa where you find maikal mountain range. There
are good forests in these ranges and it will be interesting to have a
checklist from there. You may find combination of sount indian butterflies
with NE butterflies.

Pinakin
