Excellent find, Milind! This is a larval Map (Cyrestis), a genus in the subfamily Cyrestinae that is of particular interest to me. I am not sure which species fly in Maharashtra, but based upon my experience elsewhere in Asia, your photo most likely shows a young Common Map (C. thyodamas) -- in any case, certainly not the Marbled Map (C. cocles), which looks totally different. Virtually all hostplant records for Cyrestis are in the Moraceae, of which Ficus dominates, so please rear this cat and let us know what emerges. Good luck!
