Thanks ! We look forward for yohave also your visit. You may know that we aren't much of butterfly experts or possess great knowledge of plants either. So may not have the botanical names ; have largely relied on a list given by Parag Rangnekar and from the book of Krishnamegh Kunte - those are for ones we could buy from nurseries and borrow from friends. For the local varieties we have largely relied on the ancestral knowledge of elderly villagers. Of course , some tips from visitors ( Blaise told us about crotolaria ) also helped. Will get some botanist to prepare a checklist.
We are also middle class salaried family, so obviously the underlying philosophy for the conservatory is frugality . With no Government support ( not expecting any ) or corporate sponsorships , we largely rely on visitor fees to run it . Somedays we have no butterflies ( like the day Mr Blaise Pereira visited ) , some days we are blessed with numerous incl Malabar Banded PEacock , Sunbeam , 4 types of sailors , Southern Birdwing . Will send come pics on your personal id . We have only a basic camera so clarity would suffer. Visit us on www.bcogoa.orgĀ ( requires internet explorer - does not open well on firefox ).
