My sincere public apology to all concerned if I am wrong, especially Messrs.
Lamb and Stickney, but absent proof to the contrary, the alleged Eastern Tiger
Swallowtail gynandromorph appears to be a very skillful photographic fraud. At
first glance, the image just did not "feel" right -- something about the
placement/angle of the left wings seemed a bit odd and unnatural. And upon
close scrutiny of the large-size file
(http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4136/4867405545_2f1b393d1f_o.jpg), my
skepticism only increased. Sorry to dampen an otherwise exciting subject!

Best wishes,

Keith

Subject: [ButterflyIndia] Examples of Gynandromorph

Here is what I call a crazy example of Gynandromorph !!!
 http://www.flickr.com/photos/rstickney/4867405545/

More examples at -
http://www.daltonstate.edu/galeps/Gynandromorphs.htm

I remember Saheel Latheef sharing a similar photo of Common Blue (Polyommatus
icarus).

It would be cool if we see such a thing in species like Vindula erota or
Curetis thetis !!!
Of course, not cool for the specimen itself, as it will be sterile.
