      Hi All,
Last weekend I was off to Gopalpur, a sea beach in Orissa-Andhra border for a
normal trip with office colleagues(strictly not for birding).

But Gopalpur gave me some interesting find. There were atleast 1000s of Crimson
Rose butterfly flying here and there. I saw a few Common Rose but it was hard
to spot a Common Mormon there. It seems that place is the den for all Crimson
Roses. Although in huge numbers but it gave me a real tough time to shoot one
as it sits little and if so also it keeps on flattering its wings. At last I
managed to take a few shots and these two open and close wing images are the
results. :-)

Also to mention this place is really good for raptor watchers and photographers
as a place was full of raptors whole day long, mostly black kite and brahminy
kites.
Location: Gopalpur.

State: Orissa.Date: 21st August 2010

Type of Species: Butterfly.Species Name: Crimson Rose.
Cheers,Avisek.
