Thanks Babit for putting this in the group. Dear Members This Orange Festival is a first of its kind effort by the local people. It will be organised to illustrate the local culture, heritage and to expose a part of the natural treasure of this area. Samsing, as many of us from the group know it as a wonderful butterfly habitat is also very nice for birds, reptiles and other life forms. Culture of this place is very much interesting so did the local tribal community. The floral part, with a very rich presence of medicinal plants, wonderful wildflowers and Tree Fern like ancient species needs a special mention too.
Nature Mates-Nature Club is giving the Forest Department technical support and in collaboration with the department making one Butterfly Garden at the Suntalekhola river side. This is for the first time in West Bengal such a Garden, which i preferred to say a monitored habitat, is developing. Diversity India group is a active partner of Nature Mates, in all its ventures. So all the members of DI, from all sub-groups are welcome to see this garden, and give constructive suggestions, inputs and guide us to make it the best of its kind. Do take part in this Orange Festival and make it a successful one.
